World Championship

The FIRST World Championship is an annual event where all of the qualified teams across the world from the different FIRST programs. For me, the Championship is the highlight of the season. The event has around 50,000 participants and visitiors during the event days.

During the week of the Championship, I had the task to manage the social media accounts of the team. This included making photos and videos, desiging the posts and send them for review to the team.

The week comes with some points of attention that needs some preparation time. First of all, the time difference makes it difficult to ask feedback from team members in the Netherlands. Next to that, the internet connection at the venue is very limited. In the game area, there's almost no connection possible. Besides that, the days are very busy, which means there wasn't a lot of time to work on the posts. For this, the team came up with some ideas.

To save essential time during the week, I made templates for two post days in advance. For the practice and qualification day, we use a different styling for the post compared to other posts on the social media, which only features pictures.

During the event days, I took pictures of the event. At the end of each day, I created the posts with a selection of the pictures.

At the end of the week, I created the different posts based on the templates I designed in advance.
